Healing after cosmetic eyelid surgery varies with the extent of the procedure, each patient's individual reaction to surgery, and, to some extent, luck.

Following blepharoplasty, swelling is generally at its worst on the morning after surgery, while bruising peaks on day two.

With eyelid chemical peel, the skin usually begins to peel on day three and is fully peeled by day six, leaving behind some slight redness for several weeks.

While most patients feel comfortable facing others in 7-10 days, the appearance will continue to improve for three to four months or more.
