Extra upper orbital fat may be repositioned internally (that is, further down into the lid) to provide more fullness where needed.
While of much more limited utility than orbital strip fat grafting, internal fat repositioning may be helpful in situations requiring minimal fat augmentation (such as crease revisions).
Some patients (for example, those of Asian background) may have more upper eyelid fat to work with than others.
